President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation of the President Emmanuel Macron and will pay a state visit to France on March 11-13, the presidential press service said.

The two leaders will discuss the ways to develop and strengthen the Uzbek-French multifaceted relations, while focusing on cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and financial areas and promoting cooperation with major French companies.

The talks will culminate in signing a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also meet with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to discuss practical aspects of preparing and holding the 43rd session of the organization's General Conference in Samarkand this fall.

Ahead of the visit, a bust of scientist Abu Rayhon Beruni was unveiled on March 1 in the city of Gretz-Armenville at the Uranoscope observatory. These days, forums and conferences in the healthcare, science and education, culture, tourism and business are taking place in Paris, while an Uzbek-French business events will be hosted in Toulouse, Lyon and Nice.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to Paris in October 2018. This was the first visit of an Uzbek leader to France in more than 20 years.
