Interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 29 received the United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas Shannon, UzA said.
A range of bilateral and multilateral issues were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that Uzbekistan and the United States have all the necessary opportunities and potential for expansion of cooperation in all promising areas that serve the long-term interests of the two countries.
Thomas Shannon confirmed the interest of the US leadership in consistent and stable development of multifaceted relations with Uzbekistan.
During his stay in Tashkent, the Under Secretary of State visited the National Paralympic Association of Uzbekistan and congratulated the athletes with tremendous achievements at the XV Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
