Uzbekistan and the Taliban movement have agreed to cut the price of to 500 kilovolts of power transmission project from Uzbekistan to Dashti Alwan in Afghanistan from $252 million to $222 million.
The agreement was reached during the talks between the PM Abdulla Aripov and the Afghan Deputy PM Abdul Ghani Baradar.
According to Baradar, Uzbekistan also agreed to increase electricity exports to Afghanistan during the summer months while cutting the price.
As part of the inked agreements, Uzbekistan will lift restrictions on Afghan agricultural products and create four shopping malls in major cities of both countries. He also noted that the discussions included lowering customs tariffs on 10 Afghan export items.
