The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today had a telephone conversation with the Russian president Vladimir Putin, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly discussed the ways to further develop and strengthen the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties.
They reviewed the progress of implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian president to Uzbekistan in May last year as per the Road map approved by the two leaders.
The heads of state highly valued the contacts and exchanges that are actively taking place at various levels and focused on ensuring the upward trend in the trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as support for industrial cooperation projects in the provinces of the two countries.
They commended the expanding humanitarian cooperation, primarily in the field of culture, art, science, education, including training of engineering personnel, in the field of healthcare and sports.
The two leaders also exchanged views on issues on the international agenda and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
