Uzbekistan imported about 4.2 million mobile phones from abroad in 2024, the Statistics Agency said in a report. Compared to the previous year, the imports increased by 23.5%. At the same time, their total value rose by almost 56% - to $ 374.5 million.
Almost 81% of phones (3.4 million) were imported from China.
Also, over 12 months, 589.4 thousand phones were imported from Vietnam, 113.6 thousand from India, 46.1 thousand from Hong Kong and 5.4 thousand from other countries.
In January - September 2023, Uzbekistan imported about 2.6 million units of all types of mobile phones from abroad worth total of $ 178.2 million.
