Privately-owned Anorbank has purchased buildings of the Ministry of Energy and the state-owned company Uztransgaz in downtown Tashkent worth total of 439.6 billion soums ($33.97 million).
On December 26, 2024, the bank's Supervisory Board decided to acquire the buildings at 21 Istikbol Street. The Ministry of Energy is located at this address (opposite Westminster International University and the Hampton by Hilton Hotel).
The property belongs to Neft Gaz Bino Inshoat, a Uzbekneftegaz’s wing in charge of rental and management of apartment buildings and housing. The Uzbekneftegaz’s headquarters are in two office buildings at 16 Istikbol Street and 64 Amir Temur avenue in Tashkent, as well as in Karshi.
In 2023, the Ministry of Energy paid 412 million soums per month (4.94 billion soums per year) for the rent of Neft Gaz Bino Inshoat buildings, and in 2024, the rental price increased by 32% - to 544.3 million soums per month (6.5 billion soums per year).
On January 27, Anorbank and Neft Gaz Bino Inshoat entered into a sale and purchase agreement valued at 254.55 billion soums (19.62 million dollars at the Central Bank exchange rate).
On January 10, the Supervisory Board of Anorbank also decided to buy the Uztransgaz building on Shakhrisabz Street, 85A, which is located next to the Ministry of Energy. On the same day, a 185.03 billion soums ($14.28 million at the Central Bank rate purchase and sale deal was completed.
