At the government meeting today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to increase the volume of aviation services by at least 20% in 2025. In particular, he ordered to double the number of flights to Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus and Termez. In general, airline passenger number in the country must be brought to 15 million passengers, which is 1.5 million more than last year.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also ordered to bring the share of local freight forwarders in international transportation across the territory of Uzbekistan to 50% before 2027. To support local carriers, they will be partially waived from paying VAT, and importers of Euro 5 and higher standard trucks will have their waiver from duties and recycling taxes extended for another three years.

The President once again emphasized the importance of digitalization. He pointed out to the Ministry of Transport the delay in launching a platform for purchasing tickets for all types of passenger transport. The Cadastre Agency has been instructed to speed up the creation of a unified register of real estate addresses.

Mirziyoyev noted that the delay in digitalization is opposed to the country's course towards openness. In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers should establish clear KPIs with specific tasks and deadlines for each minister, governor and mayor.

The Tourism Committee has been instructed to create an online platform for booking hotels, resorts and tickets for transport, museums and theaters. In addition, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice were instructed to launch an e-visa system that allows entry into Uzbekistan in three days.
