President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday in New York met with a group of Uzbek expatriates living in the United States, UzA reported.
"I am very happy to meet with you today in the United States of America, my dear compatriots," the head of state said. "I have been planning well in advance to have a sincere and cordial talk with you during this visit."
"We are all well aware of how difficult it is to succeed and achieve recognition far away from home," the President noted.
"I deem it important to meet you, to get to know you, to have an open dialogue and get your opinions and proposals on the big goals that our country is aiming," he said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the significance of the five-Area Development Strategy for 2017-2021, the Concept of Administrative Reform, reforms in judicial, legal, financial spheres, business conditions, tourism and healthcare, support for science and education.
The expats, in turn, expressed their views on the reform efforts in science, education, technology, investments and other spheres in Uzbekistan, as well as on strengthening of bilateral ties between the two countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev urged the compatriots to take part in the reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan, to direct knowledge and experience for the progress of the country.
"I invite all those, who wish to contribute to the development of Uzbekistan, to return home," he said. "I am ready to provide all kinds of support and incentives."
«I am sincerely and wholeheartedly happy to see your willingness to contribute to the development of our country. I am convinced that if we unite and joint our efforts for the prosperity for our dear Motherland, we will achieve all our goals," the head of state said.
