Russian delegation led by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation N. Patrushev arrived in Uzbekistan to hold consultations between the security councils at the invitation of the hosting side.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Russian security cooperation, in particular, the priority cooperation areas between law enforcement and customs bodies, ministries of emergency situations, and considered military-technical cooperation. The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international security.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring swift implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoev to the Russian Federation in late April.
The negotiations resulted in the signing of a consultations related document between the Security Councils of Uzbekistan and Russia.
The program of the visit includes sightseeing of Samarkand, as well as the visit to Khazrati-Hizr Complex, the burial place of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
