MPs of the Legislative Chamber reviewed and passed bill banning electronic cigarettes. The bill proposed to prohibit the production, manufacture, storage, transportation or sale of nicotine consumption devices, including electronic cigarettes and liquids for them, as well as importing into and export from Uzbekistan.
It has proposed liability for offenses related to the illegal circulation of prohibited smokeless tobacco products, nicotine consumption devices, including electronic cigarettes.
It Reportedly, during the preparation of the bill for the second reading, the relevant committee improved its provisions based on the proposals made by the MPs and finalized the bill.
According to the MPs, the passing of the bill will serve to further protect the life and health of the public, protect the nation's gene pool, and protect the environment from new types of tobacco and nicotine products.
The bill was passed in the third reading.
