Uzbekistan Railways announced the launch of Parkent to Tashkent electrified railway project. The launch ceremony dedicated to Baitkurgon to Parkent railway line project took place in Parkent district of Tashkent province. The 23.8 km railroad is being designed by Boshtransproekt.
The project includes erection of two sidings, four bridges, two road crossings, one tunnel crossing, 78 culverts and seven intersections of roads and railways.
After project completion, the new rail road will become an incentive for boosting tourism in the picturesque mountainous areas of Parkent district. However, the project completion date has not yet been announced.
