President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of the United States of America Donald Trump on his official inauguration, Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.
In the congratulatory message, Shavkat Mirziyoyev voiced the confidence that during Donald Trump's new presidential term, the United States’ global stature and role in the world, their economic power and potential will continue to grow.
Reportedly, Uzbekistan highly values the policy of the United States aimed at supporting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Uzbekistan.
"I would like to note that during your first presidential term, a new era of strategic partnership began in the bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and the United States and our dialogue reached a higher level. We look forward to further developing long-term cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of multilateral platforms," the message said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also invited Donald Trump to visit Uzbekistan.
Earlier, in November the President of Uzbekistan congratulated Donald Trump on confident win in the presidential elections.
In May 2018, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the United States on the first official visit ever by an Uzbek president and met with Donald Trump. Their joint statement following the meeting was entitled "The Beginning of a New Era of Strategic Partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan."
The draft 2025 Uzbekistan state program includes an item aimed at deepening the country's strategic partnership ties with the United States.
