According to the State Statistics Committee, in the period from January to December 2024, 35.9 thousand Uzbek nationals went abroad for studying. Tajikistan was Uzbeks’ top destination for studying on 12,809 students.
Tajikistan was followed by Russia, on 8,629 students, Kyrgyzstan (3,953 people), Turkey (2,711 people), the Republic of Korea (2,077 people) and Kazakhstan (1,589 people), UK (792 people), China (767 people), the USA (576 people) and the UAE (390 people).
The figures reportedly testify to a growing interest of young Uzbeks in studying abroad, which contributes to wider academic cooperation.
