MP of the Legislative Chamber, Odiljon Tozhiev condemned the threats made by the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov against Uzbekistan officials, calling it interference in the country's internal affairs.
In a post on his Telegram channel in response to posts on Ramzan Kadyrov's channel, the member of the Milliy Tiklanish party said: "Such actions can negatively affect the relations between the two friendly countries and the friendly relations between the peoples of both countries."
"I ask the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to give a legal assessment of the situation related to Ramzan Kadyrov's threat to Uzbek officials," the MP underscored.
In addition, he emphasized that the leader of the Chechen Republic should openly apologize to the people of Uzbekistan for his statements.
"If he is a friend, he should help in finding Beslan Rasayev and Shamil Temirkhanov, who have been put on the wanted list by the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan, and hand them over to Uzbekistan," added Odiljon Tojiyev.
What Ramzan Kadyrov said
In his post on December 26, Ramzan Kadyrov for the second time denied the existence of a "Chechen trace" (which was reported by the media) in the case of the assassination attempt on the former leader of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Komil Allamjonov and his involvement in the case. "It's hard to call it an assassination attempt," he wrote, repeating: "If I had been the one preparing this, I would have seen it through to the end... You shouldn't have such a bad opinion of me." The leader of Chechnya wrote his first post on this case on November 11. The shooting of the former official's car occurred on the night of October 26.
The next day, on December 27, the Prosecutor General's Office confirmed the media reports about two Russian nationals, Bislan Rasayev and Shamil Temirkhanov, being put on the Interpol wanted list on charges of illegal entry and exit from Uzbekistan, failure to report a crime, and illegal trafficking of firearms.
The media also wrote about the appearance of a second person in the case, who was the target of an assassination attempt - the director of the National Agency for Promising Projects of Uzbekistan, Dmitry Li. The Prosecutor General's Office did not comment on such reports.
Ramzan Kadyrov "recommended" Komil Allamjonov and Dmitry Li "not to play the role of victims too much." "Whatever you are planning, it is better to stop in time, otherwise you will have to answer for all your intrigues, slander, and speculation. And now I am talking about the answer according to our traditions," he threatened.
The leader of Chechnya also stated that "an official investigation is needed regarding the investigators who are working on this story."
In both posts, Ramzan Kadyrov called the media reports provocative propaganda and part of some kind of political game, and also noted the friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Chechnya.
