Beauty blogger and cosmetologist Guzalya Makhmatkulova, 23, allegedly committed suicide by jumping out of the window of a multi-story apartment building in her hometown of Samarkand on the night to December 12, the spokesman to the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan, Khayot Shamsutdinov.
Investigation unit under the Samarkand City Prosecutor's Office went to the scene. The scene of the tragedy was inspected, eyewitness testimony was collected. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to find the cause of death, with a pre-investigation probe underway.
The Nemolchi.uz anti-violence project posted a footage containing screenshots of the deceased's chats with her friends, where they talked about Guzalya's difficult relationship with her husband and mother-in-law. In one of them, the girl wrote: "I think I’d rather die."
