The beloved actor and voiceover legend Tulqin Tojiev has died at the age of 88, the National Academic Drama Theater said.

Born in Tashkent city Tulqin Tojiev graduated the acting major of the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute in 1959 and joined the Academic Drama Theater.

The actor filmography includes casts in plays The Inspector General, Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, Alisher Navoi, Mirzo Ulugbek, Avicenna and movies: The Whole Neighborhood is Talking about It, Fiery years, Five brothers, Black fish’s trail.

Since 1955, he had worked as voice actor in over a thousand films. In particular, he voiced films such as The Sword and the Shield, Afonya, Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession, From You, From Us Only, Where is Nophelet?, Beware of the Car, The Adventures of Cannoneer Dollas, Loyalty, Elephants are My Friends, Ram and Sham.

In 1988, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of Uzbekistan, and in 1997, he was awarded the Dustlik (Friendship) Order.
