As reported earlier the 1st OIC Summit on Science and Technology was held in Astana. In his remarks at the summit, the Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said: “I propose to hold the OIC Summit on Science and Technologies every three years, and if You support this proposal, we are ready to hold the next summit in 2020 in Uzbekistan".
Later the Astana Declaration supported this proposal. "We support the proposal of the Uzbek delegation to hold the Second Summit of the OIC in Uzbekistan".
