Erkinjon Turdimov has been relieved of his post as governor of the Samarkand province due to his transfer to another job. The decree on this was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
By another presidential decree, Adiz Boboev, who served as chairman of the Accounts Chamber, was appointed acting governor.
Erkinjon Turdimov, 55, had been in charge of the province since July 2018. Previously, since December 2016, he headed the Surkhandarya province, and in 2008-2016 he was the Navoi province governor. In 1995-1996, he was deputy mayor of Zarafshan city.
Adiz Boboev, 52, was appointed chairman of the Accounts Chamber in January of this year. Previously, he worked as Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.
He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics (1993). He worked in the Financial Department of the Bukhara province (1993-2007), Head of the Revenue Forecasting Department of the Executive Directorate of the Republican Road Fund under the Ministry of Finance (2008-2010), Deputy Head of the Department of Planning and Analysis of Consolidated Budget Revenues of the Main Directorate of the State Budget (2010-2012), Head of the Department of Financial Support for State Development Projects and in other leadership positions in the structure of the Ministry of Finance.
Also, he was Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction (2020-2023), and then from February 2023 - Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.
