Today, the Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Israeli Ambassador to Uzbekistan Gideon Lustig. “Met with the Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan H.E. Gideon Lustig today at the MFA. Expressed our sincerest condolences with regard to passing of Zvi Kogan. People of Uzbekistan have always been friendly to all representatives of religions and backgrounds. We never tolerated and will never tolerate any form of nationalism. Underscored that terrorism and extremism do not have any borders and nationality. Government of Uzbekistan has been closely cooperating with authorities in the UAE and Israel on investigations”, the Minister Saidov said on his Telegram account.

Earlier, Rabbi Zvi Kogan, who went missing last week in Dubai, was found dead. The UAE Ministry of Interior detained three suspects, nationals of Uzbekistan. Two of them are 28 years old, the third is 33 years old. The Israeli authorities called the murder of the rabbi an "anti-Semitic terrorist attack." Israeli intelligence agencies said that Kogan was killed by "three Uzbek agents" hired by Iran.
