On the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the presidential press service said.

The parties discussed the ways to further advance the Uzbek-Saudi ties.

At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the timeliness and relevance of organizing an extraordinary summit in Riyadh.

They commended the ongoing intensive contacts and exchanges at various levels, given the volumes of trade and investment, the number of joint ventures are growing.

They also considered the ways to promote new joint projects, in particular in the areas of "green" energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, communications, the agricultural sector, and industry.

The two leaders focused on the preparation of upcoming high-level events, including the second Central Asia - Gulf Cooperation Council Summit in Samarkand in 2025.

During the meeting, the Uzbek leader voiced gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the facilities created for Uzbeks to perform Hajj and Umrah.

An exchange of views also took place on the regional issues, including a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East.

This concluded the program of the working visit to Riyadh, and the head of our state left for Baku.
