The president Shavkat Mirziyoyev made remarks at the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Bishkek.

"Unfortunately, since our meetings in Astana and Shusha, global geopolitical processes have become even more complex. The atmosphere of rivalry and mistrust between major [pwers is sharply intensifying, new hotbeds of confrontation and wars are emerging, and various threats and challenges are aggravating," the head of state emphasized at the beginning of his remarks.

He noted that the states of the region "are comprehensively feeling their negative impact and consequences." "It must be said that these problems are becoming a serious obstacle to our joint plans and major projects in the trade, investment, transport, energy, agriculture and other areas," the president said.

According to the Uzbek leader, it would be appropriate to continue a systemic dialogue on political and security issues within the organization, as well as actively promote a unified and clear position on international problems.

"First of all, we are talking about the ongoing unjust war in the Middle East and the double standards. "There is no way to justify the unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, the devastating attacks against civilians, especially the deaths of innocent children, the elderly and women," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

He added that the only way to resolve this conflict is to create an independent state of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem based on the 1967 borders in accordance with international acts and resolutions.

The president also reminded that the organization should remain focused on Afghanistan. "We believe that when addressing the pressing problems of Afghanistan, it is imperative to consider issues of providing assistance to the current government, the broad involvement of this state in regional economic processes, and the implementation of social and infrastructure projects," he said.

The leader of Uzbekistan called the Charter of the Turkic World, adopted at the summit, a historical document, on the basis of which the countries will achieve "even greater unity of the Turkic world," "increase its authority" and take cooperation to a new level.

The President also outlined a number of priority areas of cooperation within the organization.

Expansion and strengthening of the legal framework of the organization. Uzbekistan proposed to adopt the Treaty on Strategic Partnership, Eternal Friendship and Brotherhood of the Turkic States.

Creation of a space of new economic opportunities. "As the analysis shows, at present, the share of internal mutual trade in the foreign trade turnover of our states remains low. A significant part of our imports comes from third countries. The time has come to radically change the situation in this direction," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Ensuring the continuity of investment processes. "The demand for capital and its cost in the global financial market is growing. The conditions for issuing long-term and "green" loans to developing countries are becoming more complicated... We must pay serious attention to the introduction of financial instruments. We consider it necessary to consider the issues of activating the work of the Turkic Investment Fund, creating, on our initiative, the Turkic Development Bank," the head of Uzbekistan proposed.

Efficient use of transport corridors. "Optimization of transit tariffs along the Middle Corridor, simplification of border crossing processes, creation of modern logistics systems and joint operators fully meet our common interests," the President said. He called on the countries to sign a multilateral agreement on the transition to electronic document management in transportation and their mutual recognition.

Development of the concept of the digital Turkic world. "This concept will serve the mutual exchange of best practices and achievements of our countries in the IT sphere, the creation of digital systems of innovation, infrastructure and science, large data centers," Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

"Our cooperation within the organization creates broad opportunities for strengthening our positions in a rapidly changing world, preventing various threats and new challenges to further deepen our ties," the President of Uzbekistan emphasized at the end of his speech.
