On October 26 at 11:30 a private building on Farabi street of Tashkent’s Shayhantahur district collapsed, killing three people and injuring two, the Uzbek Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The violation of the construction codes may have caused the incident. The Ministry’s emergency units rescued two people and recovered 3 dead bodies from the rubble.
The Tashkent police cordoned off the area while the brigades of the Emergency Situations Ministry, fire safety and the Interior Ministry units were clearing the rubble and debris. The district’s police department and prosecutor's office have launched investigation to establish the circumstances and causes of the collapse.
