The French President Emmanuel Macron sent a congratulatory message to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of Uzbekistan's Independence 26th Anniversary.
"I am, just as You are, committed to deepening cooperation between our countries and I am glad that You see France as a priority partner," the message reads.
"For several months, a new trend has been observed in the France-Uzbekistan ties which were boosted, in particular, by the three visits of high-ranking delegations of our countries. I am aware and highly appreciate Your personal active involvement and participation. The decree You signed in relation to the project in Samarkand allows the French Development Agency to concretize its first important achievement in Your country, for which I thank You," Emmanuel Macron said.
"I will be happy to host You in Paris for the first working meeting. This meeting will help strengthen the political dialogue between our countries, while they face common problems, such as terrorism and global climate change. Also this meeting will give impetus to the development of our economic ties," the French President underscored.
"Exchanges in the fields of culture and education are also promising," he continued. "I think, in particular, of the future exhibition in the Louvre, the development of activities of the French school in Tashkent and the prospects for opening branches of the French Alliance in Samarkand and Bukhara."
