Cabinet of Ministers issued the Adopting new types of tourism and additional measures related to the effective use of Uzbekistan’s tourist potential Resolution with effect as of September 26 of this year. The Resolution introduces new types of tourism for local and foreign tourists from January 1, 2025, in particular:

  • industrial tourism, which involves familiarization with manufacturing processes;
  • geological tourism, which involves observing technological processes in gold, ore and other mineral resources mining, mines, inactive geological objects from a safe distance, including rock blasting activities, communication with experts, organization of excursions on mountain terrains;
  • scientific tourism, which involves getting acquainted with scientific and technical achievements by visiting scientific research institutes and laboratories, observatories and planetariums, the Academy of Sciences and organizations within its system;
  • military tourism, which involves visiting places related to military history and activities, participating in monuments and events, getting to know the life and conditions of military personnel, and launching paid shooting services in areas;
  • government-administrative tourism, which includes visiting places that reflect the political life of the country, the history and activities of state bodies and organizations, in particular, government buildings and structures.

The Resolution also approved the Ministry of Defense's proposal to provide the following services to local and foreign tourists from January 1, 2025:

  • Direct familiarization with military equipment and weapons in Victory Park memorial complex, Glory, Armed Forces state museums and Patriots parks in the areas;
  • Launching of paid shooting services at the Qibray sports complex, the Higher Sports Development Center of the Ministry of Defense.
