Uzbekistan Constitutional Court delegation headed by the court’s chairman, Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov attended the 6th Congress and Council of Members of the Asian Association of Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) held in Bangkok on September 17-21.

High-ranking officials of the Constitutional Courts of 14 countries, as well as many observers and invited guests attended the event on the theme "The role of constitutional courts and similar institutions in strengthening constitutional justice in the interests of a stable society."

During the conference, the Uzbekistan delegation attended the main discussions on the topics Principles of constitutional justice, Role of constitutional courts in the rapidly changing global environment, Protection of human rights and climate justice.

The Bangkok Declaration was adopted at the end of the Congress, which has defined the most important obligations to ensure the primacy of the constitution and protect fundamental rights.

At the event, it was announced that the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan will chair the AACC in 2025-2027, which demonstrates a forward-looking approach to the promotion of constitutional governance and justice in Uzbekistan, allowing the country to play an important role in shaping the future of constitutional courts in the Asian region.
