The Turkish company Onur Group vows to participate in the reconstruction of roads in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said. The group's director for projects in Romania and Moldova, Bülent Tatar met with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Finance on September 20.
The parties discussed the reconstruction of the 4R12 Bektemir-Chirchik-Gazalkent-Chorbog road on the 6-77 km section using asphalt concrete pavement. It is planned to turn it into a toll road.
On September 18, Onur Group experts visited the site together with officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Committee on Roads. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to "prepare the necessary documents for the implementation of the project."
The press service of the Committee on Roads clarified that the Ministry of Transport has not yet held a tender for this toll road. The Ministry of Transport indicated that the proposals of this company have been reviewed and the feasibility study for the project has not yet been developed. After this, a tender will be held and the contractor for the project will be determined, the ministry noted.
According to the ministry, Onur Group, founded in 1981, operates in the field of construction and engineering, in particular, it has experience in implementing projects related to the construction of bridges, tunnels, dams, airports, trams and railways, as well as urban infrastructure. The company implements construction projects in 13 countries, such as Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, Tunisia, Moldova, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Equatorial Guinea and Turkmenistan.
