Prices for hot water and central heating will increase In Tashkent. This is stipulated in the September 12decision of the Tashkent council of people's deputies dated.
The new retail prices for heat and hot water supply services for households will increase by 15% and will stand at 121,617 soums / Gcal instead of 105,754 soums / Gcal. The price was last increased on April 2 of this year - after the end of the previous heating season.
The prices for legal entities will also increase by 15% - from 212,606 soums to 244,497 soums per Gcal. The last increase was at the end of 2023.
In February of this year, Veolia Energy Tashkent proposed to the council to increase the price for hot water supply and heat supply for households in Tashkent by 15%, with the company chief stating that city residents pay only 14% of the base price, and the rest is covered from the city budget in the form of subsidies.
Reportedly, a quarter of all expenses of the capital's budget are spent on compensating losses of heat supply firms due to the use of reduced tariffs for the public. In 2024, it is planned to contribute 1.97 trillion soums for this, which is 22.8% more than the forecast for 2023 (1.6 trillion soums).
