4th Eurasian Women's Forum kicked off in St. Petersburg. The Senate speaker Tanzila Norboeva addressed the opening ceremony of the plenary meeting organized within the framework of the forum.

In her remarks, she Senate touched on the progress of the interests of women in Uzbekistan at the level of national policy course and the comprehensive program being implemented to increase their activity in all aspects.

In particular, she drew the attention of the forum participants to the achieved outcomes in this area.

In particular, she underscored that over the last 7 years, the number of women in leadership positions in the country had increased from 27% to 35%, and in parliamentary activities, it has increased to 32%, which is in line with the recommendations of the United Nations.

Also, the World Bank in its "Women, business and rights" report recognized Uzbekistan as a model for other countries, as having made the greatest improvement in ensuring gender equality.
