Four people died on Tuesday in a new accident at the 25 Years of Independence gas field in the Baysun district of Surkhandarya,. This was confirmed by the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov.
According to him, these are contractor’s employees at the field. Their identities have been established.
The day before, several sources in the Baysun district, including hospital employees, reported to the publication about four fatalities.
Several victims are known to have sought medical help. Not all of them required hospitalization. As of 16:00, one worker was in the hospital.
On Wednesday afternoon, at a briefing in Tashkent, officials of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and the Prosecutor General's Office, answering the question of whether it was true that two people died in the accident, answered positive.
Sherzod Asadov reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the accident immediately after it occurred. He gave the relevant instructions and receives information about the situation in real time.
The heads of the responsible ministries and organizations went to the scene of the emergency. Foreign specialists have been brought in to help domestic structures eliminate the consequences of the accident.
The circumstances of the incident and other information will be announced in the evening by the ministers of emergency situations and energy, who are in the Baysun district.
