The 16th Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road", which was scheduled to be take place September 15 to 19, has been postponed, the festival's press center reported.
"As you know, this year Uzbekistan has become a center of attraction for many international events, the dates of which coincide with the film festival. Among them are the Futsal World Cup and a number of other international forums and conferences," the organizers explained.
“In addition, despite the fact that the acceptance of applications for participation in the competition program of the film festival has already ended, having collected more than 400 films from 60 countries, applications for participation continued to arrive, "which led to the need to adjust plans for the dates of the film festival", they added

We deeply appreciate your attention and support and express our sincere gratitude for your interest in our film festival," the organizers emphasized, apologizing for the postponement of the event.
The new dates for the film festival were not given in the announcement.
