The EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski will visit Uzbekistan on September 5-6, the EU Delegation in Tashkent reported.

“The visit marks an important step in the EU’s ongoing partnership with Uzbekistan and underlines our shared commitment to addressing global challenges such as climate change, food security and safety, as well as achieving sustainable development goals,” the Delegation said.

Janusz Wojciechowski will reported address the international forum “Landlocked Developing Countries: Food Security and Sustainable Development Goals.” In his remarks, he is expected to touch upon the EU’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable agricultural practices and ensure food security, especially in landlocked developing countries.

The Commissioner will also hold meetings with government officials, including Agriculture Minister Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov. The meetings are planned to discuss the ways to expand agricultural cooperation, trade prospects and joint initiatives to promote sustainable agriculture.
