The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an international conference entitled: Afghanistan ruled by the Taliban - the approach by neighboring countries and superpowers".
In the opening remarks, the Senate deputy speaker, Rector of the university, Sodiq Safoev emphasized that Afghanistan was an important factor of the regional stability.
"Uzbekistan is concerned that the issues related to the development of this country are being left aside from the international agenda. Expanding humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and developing a common strategy of the world community towards this country remains the priority of the countries of the region and the world," Sadiq Safoev said.
German Ambassador Manfred Hutterer supported Uzbekistan's initiatives to establish trade and economic cooperation with Afghanistan and to regularly provide humanitarian aid to the neighboring country.
The experts discussed in detail the issues of political, socio-economic development of Afghanistan. Geopolitical issues and possibilities of including this country in regional relations were considered. The parties assessed the political, diplomatic, trade-economic relations of the Afghan authorities with the neighboring countries and regional and global superpowers.
