The Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has responded to the recent statements made by the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
As reported earlier, the Uzbek authorities and the United States have come to an agreement on the fate of the military aircraft and helicopters that were ferried from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan in August 2021, said the US Ambassador Jonathan Henick.
According to the Afgha Minsitry's statement any deal regarding the fate of Afghanistan-related planes and helicopters in Uzbekistan is not acceptable. It asserts that the United States does not have the authority to seize and distribute Afghan assets.
Uzbekistan’s government is urged to abstain from any such dealings, make prudent decisions reflecting good neighborly relations, and collaborate in the transfer of Afghan Air Force aircraft and helicopters.
