Deputy mayor of Balykchi district of Andijan province was arrested while receiving 30 thousand dollars, the press service of the State Security Service said. The operation was conducted by the Service jointly with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Reportedly, the chief specialist at the housing and communal services department of the district and an employee of a firm providing medical services were red-handedly arrested while receiving this money.
They agreed to sell 1.75 hectares of land in the reserve of the mayor’s office at a low price through the E-auction platform and to register another 2 hectares in the name of the buyer by preparing a decision of the district mayor dated 2019.
The pre-investigation probe found that they handled this matter through the district deputy mayor. He was arrested at the time of transferring the specified amount.
A criminal case has been launched against the arrestees. The deputy mayor and the chief specialist of the housing and communal services department have been taken into custody.
