Elements of the updated navigation were installed at two stations of the Tashkent metro - Alisher Navoi and Pakhtakor, a press release from TBC Bank and Payme, which initiated the project, said.
The new design was developed by the famous designer of transport systems and navigation solutions, art director of Bureau Gorbunov, Ilya Birman. He has been designed transport schemes, websites, applications and navigation systems in public places around the world.
The new system is the first step towards implementing numbering of entrances and exits from the metro, the report notes.
The main goal of the updated and unified metro scheme initiative is to create an intuitive system that does not violate the architectural environment of the stations, but simplifies navigation for passengers as much as possible, the release says.
Color system and pictography. All elements from the line scheme to the smallest sign use a single color system. The first three lines retained their usual colors - red, blue and green, and the fourth line received a gold color. The pictograms and symbols of the line numbers refer to the traditional Uzbek eight-pointed star and the image of cotton.
Font. When choosing the font, several factors were taken into account: expressiveness, compliance with the specifics of Tashkent and functionality in navigation. The font should be easy to read and adapted to the frequent use of apostrophes in the Uzbek language.
