The Japanese construction firm Shimizu Corporation is looking for male construction workers aged 18 to 35 years, the press service of the Agency for External Labor Migration said.

For candidates, a salary of 220 to 235 thousand Japanese yen is being offered, but from this amount a tax of 4,550 yen will be charged, social and labor insurance - 32,716 yen. Thus, the net salary will be about 14.7–15.9 million soums, or 1150-1250 USD.

A separate bonus shall be paid for overtime work hours.

Employers will cover air travel from Uzbekistan to Japan and transfer to the place of residence.

Basic eligibility requirements:

  • knowledge of Japanese (certificate JLPT N4 or JFT Basic A2);
  • holding a certificate of passing a special exam in construction qualifications (Tokuteigino 1-go);
  • graduation from school, lyceum or vocational college;
  • willingness to work on the basis of an employment contract for at least three years.

The placement program does not require previous work experience. The selection of candidates will be based on an interview.

In April, the president signed a decree supporting migrant workers abroad and creating the position of attaché on labor migration issues at the embassy and consulate of Uzbekistan in Japan.

Uzbeks may receive compensation for the visas costs - up to 5 Basic settlement unit (BSU) (1.7 million soums), for passing professional and language exams subject to receipt of certificates - up to 3 BSU (1.02 million soums), tickets - up to 2 BSU (680 thousand soums).

Over the past few months, a number of European Union countries have also announced an organized recruitment of workers from Uzbekistan. Thus, Germany invited 50,000 people to various jobs, Hungary opened hiring for truck drivers, Slovakia - workers at car factories, and Latvia invited welders, South Korea also announced hiring of workers.
