The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadir Japarov made statements to the media on Thursday in Tashkent city.

The Uzbek leader underscored that the state visit of the Kyrgyz President was a historic event and started a new era in the multilateral cooperation of our countries. The results of the open, constructive and friendly negotiations were noted with great satisfaction.

The joint statement on further deepening and expansion of comprehensive strategic partnership, which serves as a basis for raising mutual cooperation to a higher level in the future, became the main political document.

An agreement was reached on setting up of the Inter-State Council chaired by the presidents.

The two leaders agreed to further develop close political dialogue and active contacts at the level of parliaments, governments, foreign policy agencies, line ministries, regions, business and public circles.

The parties will continue to mutually support initiatives in regional and international platforms, including UN, SCO, CIS, Organization of Turkic States, Consultative meetings of the heads of Central Asian countries and other formats.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of forming a new comprehensive economic agenda of Uzbek-Kyrgyz ties.

To this end, a program to increase the volume of mutual trade was adopted. In addition, trade houses will be established in the capitals of the countries, and a portfolio of long-term export-import contracts will be prepared to increase the volume of trade to 2 billion dollars in the coming years.

Means of export support and recognition of certificates will be adopted, and a green corridor will be launched for fruit and vegetable and livestock products.

The two leaders focused on creating new growth points in industrial cooperation, first of all, in complementary sectors of the economy of the two countries. These are projects in energy, automotive, transport and logistics, electrical engineering, textiles, agro-industry and other sectors.

Today, the PV plant projects in Fergana and Namangan regions, the manufacturing of cars in Chuy region, and the manufacturing of textile products in Kara-Balta were launched. In order to support such projects, it was decided to increase the authorized capital of the Development Fund of Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan to 200 million dollars.

The importance of expanding systematic communication between regions was noted. It was agreed to activate the work of the board of governors of border regions. The schedule of mutual visits will be prepared and the cooperation "roadmaps" will be updated. The project portfolio was set to reach 1 billion dollars by the end of the year.

The heads of state pointed to new opportunities in the field of agriculture. Among them are the joint cultivation of agricultural crops, the establishment of intensive gardens and agroclusters using futures contracts.

The parties agreed to intensify joint efforts to strengthen transport connectivity in the region.

"The signing of a tripartite agreement on the strategic project of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was a historic event," said Mirziyoev.

The parties was agreed to establish a group of experts to study new projects in the field of development of transport corridors.

The heads of state gave priority to cooperation in the field of energy.

The parties agreed to prepare a special cooperation program in the field of small hydropower.

- We will take steps to expedite the adoption of a tripartite agreement on the construction of Qambarota HPP. This megaproject will undoubtedly serve the stable development of our entire region, - said the President of Uzbekistan.

Active communication and exchanges will be continued in the fields of culture, youth, education, science and sports.

During the visit, an agreement was signed on sanatorium-resort complexes in Issyk-Kol of Uzbekistan. At the beginning of July, the Uzbek side launched three facilities, which are receiving guests. New projects for the development of tourism infrastructure are being developed.
