President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a Joint Statement on further deepening and expanding the comprehensive strategic partnership, the presidential press service said.
The two leaders also oversaw the signing of 16 documents:
- Intergovernmental agreement on resort and recreational facilities in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan;
- Protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on mutual trips of citizens;
- Protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization;
- Protocol on cooperation in the field of construction activities;
- Protocol on cooperation in the field of labor, employment and migration;
- Protocol on cooperation in the field of culture and art;
- Protocol on cooperation in the field of public service;
- Action plan to increase mutual trade volumes for 2024−2030;
- Plan of practical measures to develop cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports for 2024–2026;
- Road map for further development of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food supply for 2024–2026;
- Action plan for the development of cooperation between Tashkent and Bishkek for 2024–2026;
- Memorandum between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of Kyrgyzstan.
The two leaders also launched a number of major cooperation projects in the energy, transport and textile sectors. Among them are solar power plants in the Fergana and Namangan provinces and an automobile plant in the Chui region.
