Today, the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim. The parties discussed the ways to further develop the Uzbek-Malaysian ties in the context of the implementation of the agreements of the visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Uzbekistan in May this year.
They commended the noticeable upward trend in interparliamentary, intergovernmental and business contacts. On May 29, the first meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in the city of Putrajaya. The Uzbek-Malaysian Business Council was created.
They also focused on promoting cooperation projects between leading companies in industry, green energy, petrochemicals, electrical engineering and other industries and discussed the measures to implement joint programs of humanitarian exchange and pilgrimage tourism and touched upon the international and regional agenda, as well as the schedule of upcoming events at the highest level.
