One government organization entrusted me to oversee the street

At a meeting on July 5, Bakhtiyor Kudratullayev said that when he was released from prison, representatives of the state organization got in touch and asked him to clean up the “street” due to the increased stabbing among youth and athletes, Daryo reported.

The judge asked him if he was officially employed by a government organization. In response, the defendant said that he spent most of his life in prison.

“If you have been in prison since childhood, how could a government organization entrust you whatsoever?” - asked the judge. To which he said that you should give this question to that very government organization.

The judge further asked, “I guess law enforcement has enough power to keep order, right?” Bakhtiyor Kudratullaev confirmed the judge’s words. He responded by asking, “why did the state give you the task then?”

Bakhti reported that in those years in Uzbekistan there was an increase in knife crimes among youth and athletes and that this crime decreased by 60% after cooperation with him.

“Who held these statistics?” - asked the judge. The defendant said that such information was provided by representatives of the government organization who contacted him. However, he did not specify who they were. The judge didn't ask him about it either.

There are 46 people who are victims and plaintiffs in this case.
