On July 2, 2024, the Signing Ceremony of the Japanese Government’s Grant Aid of 1 billion JPY (about 6.26 million USD) for the “Economic and Social Development Programme” was held between H.E. Mr. HATORI Takashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, and H.E. Mr. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Through this cooperation, four medical containers equipped with medical equipment such as CT scanner and X-ray equipment will be provided to Uzbekistan, enabling it to offer medical services throughout the country. It is expected to improve access to medical services for people in rural areas, strengthen the health and medical systems, and contribute to the economic and social development of Uzbekistan.

At the 9th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue held in Tokyo in December 2022, Japan expressed its commitment to establish and develop cooperation in line with a new model emphasizing "Investment in People" and "Quality of Growth" in order to achieve sustainable development in a free and open Central Asia. This cooperation will contribute to "investment in people".

The Embassy of Japan will continue to cooperate in improving access to high-quality medical services in Uzbekistan.
