President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Astana, Kazakhstan on July 3-4 to attend the SCO Summit and the meeting in the SCO plus format, the presidential press service said.
At the Summit, the member-states are scheduled to adopt the Astana Declaration and a package of documents to expand cooperation in the economic, security, ecology, energy, tourism and other areas.
As part of the program, the Uzbek leader will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of states.
As previously reported, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will also attend the SCO summit. In his remarks, Guterres will reiterate the need to reaffirm commitment to the principles of multilateralism based on the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He will emphasize that peace must be at the center of these efforts.
The UN Secretary General also intends to warn the international community that geopolitical differences do not allow us to effectively eliminate common threats, including the fight against climate change.
