President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler on Wednesday. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister Yaşar Güler conveyed to the Uzbek leader the sincere greetings and best wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The parties discussed the ways to further deepen the Uzbek-Turkish comprehensive strategic partnership ties in the context of the implementation of the agreements of the high-level visit to Turkiye on June 5-6.
They touched upon the perspectives for the development of military and military-technical cooperation, including close interdepartmental cooperation, organization of joint events, training of military specialists, and others.
They also focused on strengthening and coordinating cooperation in the field of security, countering terrorism, extremism and radicalism and exchange views on ensuring peace and stability in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan.
