Uzbekistan vows to file an application to the Guinness World Records to recognize Tashkent as the city with most mosaic panels in the world. According to the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent city mayor’s office, there may be more than 440 mosaics in Tashkent.
Earlier, the Tashkent mayor’s office said that all mosaic panels on the facades and sides of residential buildings are exempt from external advertising. Employees of the Department of Digital Development noted that some of the works were blocked by ventilation pipes and were also damaged. The restoration of these objects is the next stage of the work of the Tashkent Mosaic team to protect the panels, the press service of the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art said.
