United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Uzbekistan from June 11 to 12, 2024 and Kazakhstan from June 13 to June 15, 2024.
On Tuesday, June 11th, Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s First Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyeva.
Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev.
Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov.
Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Behzod Musaev.
Ambassador Tai will also meet with Uzbek Forum members and International Labor Organization (ILO) trained labor monitors. These meetings are closed press.
On Wednesday, June 12th, Ambassador Tai will be in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Tai will meet with Samarkand’s Governor E. Turdimov.
Ambassador Tai will also participate in cultural site visits to major historical landmarks.
On Thursday, June 13th, Ambassador Tai will be in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Tai will co-chair a United States – Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council meeting with officials from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
