Uzbekistan and China inked a memorandum of understanding with the goal of bolstering collaboration in the social protection, the Uzbek Social Protection Agency said today.
Delegates from Uzbek National Social Protection Agency met with counterparts from China's Ministry of Civil Affairs in Beijing. They explored the ways to advance cooperation in the realm of social protection, marking a crucial step towards enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
Director of the Agency, Mansurbek Olloyorov, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to convene and commended the efforts of the Chinese ministry in the domain of social assistance. He put forth proposals to kickstart collaboration in various areas, including the development of mobile services tailored for the elderly, bolstering community-level services, and advancing the digitalization of social support mechanisms.
Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the agency, underscored the depth of bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and China and conveyed keen interest in knowledge exchange, particularly in the realm of social protection for children and individuals with disabilities.
The talks ended in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, signaling a firm commitment from both sides to bolster collaboration in the field of social protection. Additionally, the Chinese delegation was extended an invitation to partake in the World Conference titled "Social Protection: The Path to Sustainable Development and Equality," scheduled to take place in Samarkand in 2025.
