President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, spoke about priority areas for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and investors.

One of these areas, he said, is mining.

“Uzbekistan has huge reserves of mineral resources and critical metals. Our country has huge resources of gold, copper, tungsten, silver, and uranium. Along with rare and unique minerals, we have deposits of more than 30 rare earth metals, such as lithium, magnesium, molybdenum, germanium, vanadium and indium,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that strategic cooperation deal with the European Union in the field of critical raw materials was struck in April.

“We are working on similar deals with the United States of America and Great Britain,” he said.

In this regard, the head of state said that the Subsoil Law would be adopted in a new edition based on modern international experience.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited major companies to Uzbekistan to implement projects for deep processing of strategic raw materials and create a value chain.

A few days earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a government meeting on tasks in the field of geology, underscored the importance of exploring new deposits of critical raw materials - lithium, graphite, indium, vanadium, rhenium. He instructed the development of rare earth metals mining projects worth $500 million.
