The man who criticized women and their outfits at the Atlas Party event in Tashkent was arrested for 15 days, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
On April 20, the Zamonaviy Ayollar (“Modern Women”) club held an event Atlas Party with a demonstration of national costumes with elements of satin patterns.
After this, a video of Dilmurod Mallaev surfaced on social networks, where he criticized women’s outfits and “expressed an opinion that humiliates the honor and dignity of women and discredits them,” the Committee on Family and Women said in a statement.
The committee condemned the man and sent a request to the police for a legal assessment.
Later, Dilmurod Mallaev apologized for insulting women. “I realized the consequences of my actions. God willing, I won't repeat this again. From now on, I will mind my own affairs and business,” he said.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the Atlas Party participants filed a request so that law enforcement agencies take legal measures against the man.
On April 23, he was invited to the Shaykhantakhur district police department, where he stated that he spoke about women and their outfits based on his personal religious views.
The Shaykhantakhur district criminal court found the man guilty Minor hooliganism charge and sentenced him to 15 days of arrest.
