Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov chaired an interagency meeting yesterday which was attended by representatives of the President’s Office, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Interior ministry, Employment and labor relations ministry, the Identity Center (passport issuing authority) within the Cabinet of Ministers, External labor migration agency and other government agencies.
The attendees heard the report on progress of resolving the issues raised during the Minister Kamilov’s Direct line with citizens on July 5 this year.
Pursuant to the instruction of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, draft Presidential orders, providing for abolition of exit visa, introduction of international passport, citizenship related procedures simplification and other issues, have been prepared and are being approved by the agencies.
The attendees expressed further support to the External labor migration agency’s efforts related to conclusion of bilateral accords on government-to-government hiring of Uzbek nationals, intended to curb the problem over illegal recruitment and to provide labor migrants with social security, including decent housing, salaries and etc.
