Mobile number was sold for a whopping US$ 85 thousand at the UzEx, the press service of the exchange said. The number: 20-000-00-00 was put up for auction with a starting price of 200 million soums on March 20.
10 bidders vied in the auction, submitting a total of 87 price proposals in more than three hours. As a result, the price of the number increased 5 times - to 1.07 billion soums (about 85 thousand US dollars at the Central Bank exchange rate).
Reportedly, this is a record price for a mobile number since the launch of the trading platform. The buyer paid for the transaction within five days, now he is required to register a number with the mobile operator within 10 business days.
The online auction of mobile numbers (mobilraqam.uzex.uz) was launched in 2019.
In October 2023, license plate: 01 777 RRR was sold at auction for 894 million soums, becoming the most expensive plate number in Uzbekistan.
